January 3- January 6

Welcome Back!  I hope you had a great break!!

Kindergarten:
This week you will get to set up your StarFall accounts and explore the Starfall website.  You will also create a calendar for January, print, and take it home.

1st and 2nd Grade: 


This week you will begin to learn about the word processing application, Microsoft Word.  You will explore the alignment tools, fonts, and color tools.  You will also add an image to your document.  

If time remains you can go to Arcademic Skill Builder   to work on your math facts.

3rd and 4th Grade :

This week we will explore the word processing application, PAGES.  You will complete a document using a checklist to make sure you use and understand all the main tools. 


6th Grade:

This week you will start the class off with keyboarding practice using your online accounts.  Then you will go to the following link and download the scavenger hunt checklist to review your knowledge of Ancient China.  Be sure to type and save your answers as you explore the different sites searching for answers.

This week you will start the class period off practicing your typing skills using DANCE MAT TYPING.

2.)  If you haven't finished your WORD document about Bigfork that you started last week, you will finish that assignment.  Remember to use your check list that was given to you to make sure you used all the main tools associated with Microsoft WORD!!!

3.)  Those that finish will be given time to explore the following simple machine links.

6th Grade: 

Last week you started a newsletter about Ancient China using MICROSOFT WORD, today you will continue to work on the newsletter and hopefully finish it!!

Kindergarten:

1st and 2nd Grade:


This week we will review home row, the e and i keys and then move onto the r and u keys!  I can already see so much improvement in your typing skills!

First, you will practice your typing skills using keyboardingonline.com.

We then will continue where we left off last week with learning about the word Processor, Microsoft Word and the tools associated with the application.



You will then complete your own assignment using Microsoft Word!

Week 10: November 7- November 11


Kindergarten:  Let's continue to practice our navigation and mouse skills through these games!!
1st and 2nd Grade:
This week we will continue to practice our typing skills using DANCE MAT typing.  We will review homeroom one time and then move on to learning about the e and i key and what fingers are responsible for pressing the keys.
 When you have finished, you will use your typing skills to make and print a word cloud collage using the following link.  CREATE WORD CLOUD







3rd - 6th Grade:
First, you will log onto your online typing accounts and practice your typing skills.
 Second, you will learn about the tools associated with the word processor, Microsoft Word. 
Third, you will complete an assignment using Microsoft Word.  Make sure you check your assignment checklist given to you by Mrs.McAnally!! (You will work on this assignment next week in class as well!)

Week 9: October 31-November 4


Kindergarten:

This week we will continue to practice our typing skills using Dance Mat typing.  Try to remember what we learned last week about the home row keys and what fingers are responsible for pushing the keys:  a s d f g h j k  l ;
The second part of the class we will get to explore the educational link, Fun Brain Math Arcade as well as a play a math game.

3rd and 4th Grade: This week we will finally finish learning the Typing Rhyme.  You now know where all 26 letter are located and what fingers are responsible for each key!  Make sure when you practice  typing, you are setting yourself up for success now and in the future by using the correct finger for each key.

You will also use the link, wordle.net to create a colored word collage using words that describe you. You will then be able to print and take it home.


6th Grade:  This week we are very busy!! We have a lot to get through.  

We will start the class of with quickly reviewing the typing rhyme we finished last week.  We will then go to our online typing accounts and practice our typing skills.  Type the following address in the address bar of your web browser: keyboardingonline.com.   Let's bookmark it as well!!

Next, you will explore the link, wordle.net and make a colored word collage of your choice. 

 The last thing that we will do is begin exploring the word processor, Microsoft Word and learn about the tools and many options it has to offer.

Week 8: October 24-28



Kindergarten:  

This week we will practice our mouse navigation skills through a few different Halloween activities.  Click on the images to get started!!! You will also get to paint this week using a new link.



 1st and 2nd Grade:  

Let's become familiar with the keyboard and begin to learn the location of where letters are located on the keyboard.   We will practice in class and then you will use the following link to practice on your own.

3rd and 4th Grade:

We will review the Typing Rhyme we have been learning in class and continue to learn more of the rhyme which teaches correct finger to key usage.  You will also be introduced to your keyboarding online accounts that you can use at school and at home!! 

If time remains, choose one of the Halloween activities from above (click on the activity next to the pumpkin)!


6th Grade:
This week we will review and learn the rest of the Typing Rhyme which reinforces correct finger to key usage.  You will also use your keyboarding online account to continue working on your keyboarding skills individually.  Remember, this account can be accessed anywhere, so feel free to practice at home as well!!  Just remember the school login and your individual password.
